Flipped Classroom

This year in math we will be trying many new things in class including: flipping the class, the use of Khan Academy, and group work. Flipping the classroom is an innovative teaching practice where the typical model of lecturing during class and working on problems outside of class is reversed, allowing the teacher to provide individual attention to each student according to his or her own needs. If anyone has any concerns or would like to learn more about the flipped classroom please contact me at: daniel.schiff@tasis.ch Looking forward to a great year- I have included some videos about the flipped classroom as well for anyone interested.

Technology in Education- Endicott College

As I am amending my class blog to be used for my course, I am wondering how to make it more interactive? Certainly during the year this blog is a great way to relay information and assignments, videos, and announcements to my students. However, possibly in future years I can have discussion topics where they must reply to get points and build in more incentive for this blog to be an interactive place for my students and I to exchange ideas, feedback, and questions. If anyone has any professional thoughts, I would greatly appreciate any insight you might have to share. Thank you.
